  1. HoHoTO Community Outreach

HoHoTO is solely focused on bringing the digital community together to create an impact and opportunities to support organizations that directly affect beneficial change in our technology ecosystem. HoHoTO has long been the premier benefit party hosted by and for Toronto’s digital community, from marketing to technology, designers to entrepreneurs. With over $400,000 raised for YWCA Toronto’s Girls’ Centre and the Daily Bread Food Bank since 2008, HoHoTO has been one of Toronto’s most successful digital community events.

Participating in HoHoTO year-round, beginning with this year’s holiday event Dec 1, 2016, are a number of organizations who are helping to drive opportunity, diversity, and innovation in the workplace now and in the future, lead by YWCA Toronto’s Girls’ Centre. HoHoTO will be the hub that connects their efforts to engage more women and minorities in entrepreneurial, digital, and engineering pursuits. We’d be more than happy to have students of UofT students to volunteer for this event. Interested candidates can shoot us an email at volunteers@hohoto.ca. We also have special discounted rates for students to purchase tickets for this event. Tickets can be purchased at: http://hohoto.ca/tickets/

7. President’s Memorandum

Welcome back! Hope everyone’s had a restful and enjoyable Fall Break.

Registration for the annual MISC iBall begins today (woot woot!). The iBall is a great way to unwind and socialize with your peers in the MI program, as well as Faculty and Staff. It’s a month away and I’m already excited! Please consider coming out to this wonderful event organized by our lovely Social Committee Co-Chairs – Ronit and Eden. Tickets are free for MI students, and there are a limited number of guest tickets available as well, so sign up soon! Feel free to also join us at O’Grady’s for the after-party at 10 PM.

Good luck with your classes and commitments for the next month. The end of the semester is almost here!
