Master of Information Student Council is looking for

  • 1 Graduate Student Union Representative (attend 7 meetings 2017-18: Monthly, Mondays, 6pm-9pm)
  • Multiple Faculty Council Representatives (attend 3 meetings 2017-18: Sporadic, Thursdays, 4-6pm)
  • 1 Social Committee Co-Chair (work with 2 other elected council members on iSchool events)

Join us in Studio307 to work on your Halloween look. There will be fabric, notions, some simple patterns, arts and crafts supplies, and, of course, the glue gun and sewing machines.

Officially, the event runs from 4-6:30, but we’re around during open hours starting at noon if you want to get in on the action early.

  1. Designing and Delivering Instruction Webinar: Tips and Strategies for new Academic Librarians

Join Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians U of T Chapter to view a professional development webinar delivered by James Murphy, Information Specialist, LCR Learning (University of Calgary) on Thursday, October 26th from 12:00 – 1:30 PM in BL 417! This webinar will discuss strategies for designing and delivering library instruction, both in-person and using online teaching tools, such as LibGuides, LibWizard, Screencast software (e.g. Camtasia) and online meeting tools (e.g. Adobe Connect). Planned content includes developing learning objectives and lesson content, selecting and developing an instructional tool, delivery, and assessment strategies.

Join your Student Council & fellow MI students for some spooky fun the Friday before Halloween at FNLROM: Wicked!

 

We’ll be attending the ROM’s Friday Night Live, a highly popular Toronto event that opens the gallery at night for music, mingling, and exploring the exhibits from a different perspective! Food and drinks are sold at the event.

 

We’ll meet outside the ROM at 7:00 pm to get in line. Please note that after 8:00, ticket holders are no longer guaranteed entry. (It fills up really quickly!)

 

Tickets are $12.25 each (+ tax), and there are limited tickets available, so act fast!

This is a 19+ event, so remember to bring a valid piece of ID with you to enter.

It’s a fun time of year, so get your ideas flowing on a costume and dress up in your favourite mask, hat, costume, or go in character.  Scary treats! Spooky music! If you don’t want to dress up, come anyway, if you dare…
