Please join us for the 10th Annual Employer Showcase, your opportunity to meet professionals in the field! Employers from a variety of companies including hospitals, not-for-profits, government departments and ministries, media companies, educational institutions, consulting firms, and more will set up booths around the Inforum. Gather contacts, ask questions, and explore your career opportunities!

We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming professional photographer David Chang, who will be taking FREE HEADSHOTS for students to use in their job applications, LinkedIn profiles, and other professional settings.

Why should I come to the Employer Showcase?

The Employer Showcase is a great opportunity to meet employers from diverse fields, practice your networking, and see what careers are available to you after graduation. We have also hired a professional photographer to take professional headshots for you to use in your applications, LinkedIn profiles, and whatever else you need! There will also be light refreshments, in case you need further enticement.

What do I need to bring?

You should remember to dress professionally and bring a notebook and business cards. New this year is a FREE photographer who will take a professional headshot for you to use in your job search, on your LinkedIn, or in whatever other professional capacity you encounter, so make sure to be photogenic! No registration required, just show up at 2:00 on December 15 at the Inforum.

CNIB (the Canadian National Institute for the Blind) is the service provider of CELA services for CELA Library Members and their customers, including providing alternative format production and delivery services and support. CNIB is also a critical partner in a national solution for accessible format materials, supporting advocacy and funding efforts for CELA services.

Connie Crosby founded Crosby Group in January 2008 to help organizations and individuals visualize and start their social networking and knowledge management projects. She is an expert in social networking, communication and information organization. Connie has acted as a leader in the Canadian legal and library industries, blogging, writing and speaking to lawyers and librarians, and has connections with social media innovators around the world.

→ Legislative Library


The Legislative Library and Research Services branch provides confidential, non-partisan research and analysis, reference, circulation, news and access services to MPPs and their staff, legislative committees, and staff of the Legislative Assembly. Basic reference support is provided to the Legislative Press Gallery. Direct service to others is limited to materials not available elsewhere. The branch also publishes research papers and other information products geared to the interests of MPPs on the division’s intranet site.

OCLS was established in 2009 as a non-profit corporation to provide support for the Libraries / Learning Resource Centres of Ontario’s 24 publicly-funded colleges of Applied Arts and Technology. OCLS provides a suite of centrally funded Core Services for the benefit of all 24 Ontario college libraries, and a series of Opt-In Services such as an ILS Consortium, Remote Access, askON Virtual Reference, Institution Repository support, and more.

Southern Ontario Library Service (SOLS) was established in 1989 and is mandated to deliver programs and services on behalf of the Ontario Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport by: increasing cooperation and coordination among public library boards and other information providers in order to promote the provision of library service to the public; and assisting public library boards by providing them with services and programs that reflect their needs, including consultation, training and development.

St. John's Rehab is dedicated to specialized rehabilitation, rebuilding the lives of adults recovering from life-changing illness or injury. As an academic organization, we contribute to the advancement of rehabilitation science through research and the professional development of our staff and future rehabilitation care providers.

Vaughan Public Libraries is a growing public library system in the GTA. Currently there are 8 locations, with a 9th large resource library opening in spring 2016, and further growth planned for the next 5 years. Vaughan Public Libraries is committed to providing professional dedicated staff, embracing technological innovations, creating community hubs and growing community engagement, fostering digital learning and supporting life-long learning, and enhancing customer experience.

The Steacie Science & Engineering Library serves the Faculties of Science and Engineering at York University.



Every year, this showcase has been our largest and most important employer event. We welcome organizations from all information fields, such as archives and records management, information systems, library and information science, and knowledge management. This is a great opportunity to recruit students, network, and introduce your organization to future information professionals. Your organization does not have to be hiring at the moment; this event is intended to introduce students to the variety of potential employers in their field.


This is a convention-style showcase. Tables, chairs and basic technological requirements (i.e.: power outlets, Internet) will be provided for your booth. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
