Stephanie Abba (Upper Year Academic Affairs Officer)
Stephanie is a part-time student who hopes to graduate in 2017. She's in the LIS concentration with a background as a library technician with over 8 years of work experience at U of T libraries. She currently works full-time as a researcher and web editor in Canadian history.
A member of MISC since 2014 (Faculty Council Rep, Information Services Committee Rep, co-chair of the Part-Time Students Working Group) Stephanie is now your Academic Affairs Chair and thus serves as a point of contact for students experiencing academic or curricular issues. Please email, tweet (@sfabba) or chat with her in the iSchool!
When she's not doing work-work or school-work, Stephanie is an aspiring knitter-cyclist-runner (not all at once) and she likes to travel, watch sports, read, and hang out with her husband.
This representative, who is also one of the Academic Affairs Officers, attends and contributes to all MISC meetings and is allotted one vote. The Committee on Standing for the Faculty of Information discusses and makes decisions related to requests for extensions, late withdrawal, thesis options, and doctoral thesis titles and committees. The MISC’s representative sits on this committee to voice opinions and assist the committee on behalf of the MI student body.
