Curtis Frederick (Alumni Association Representative)
Curtis is a third year CRO student, concentrating on Archives and Records Management on the MI side. He is happy to be both the MISC-MUSSA Liaison and the Alumni Association Representative. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Curtis earned his Bachelor of Arts at UBC, doing a double major in Religious Studies and History.
Having worked in archives and museums in Squamish, Banff, Edmonton, and Toronto he recognizes the importance of interdisciplinary work that creates opportunity for both emerging and established professionals in Libraries, Archives and Museums to communicate and collaborate in creative ways. In addition to his roles on MISC, Curtis is the Chair of the Association of Canadian Archivist's University of Toronto Student Chapter, and the MUSSA Programs Committee Representative.
Curtis is very excited to take on the roles of MISC-MUSSA Liaison and Alumni Association Representative for MISC this year and is happy to field any and all of your questions or comments.
The Faculty of Information Alumni Association (FIAA) Representative acts as the liaison between the Master of Information Student Council (MISC) and the FIAA. The FIAA Rep is expected to attend and contribute to monthly meetings for both the FIAA and the MISC, and is allotted one vote for each organization. More specifically, the FIAA Rep is expected to contribute to the planning and promotion of the Job Shadowing program and the FIAA student conference grants & awards. Overall, the person holding this position strives to ensure that the FIAA is aware of the goings-on of the MISC, and vice-versa.
