Clara Luca (Social Committee Co-Chair)
Clara is a first-year student at the iSchool concentrating on LIS and ARM. Although she grew up in Southern Ontario, she attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, graduating in 2015 with her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a minor in Classical Mythology and Religious Studies; she considers the west coast her second home. Throughout her time in high school and at UBC, Clara has been actively involved in several student activities and committees. In her spare time, she is an avid reader, creative writer and theater enthusiast, but she cannot deny the validity of story-telling in other media such as movies, television and video games. Clara also has a strong interest in physical geography and nature, astronomy, cooking and local history.
Now at the University of Toronto, she is a member of MISC as a Faculty Council Representatives and she looks forward to doing her best to serve the student body!
The Social Committee is comprised of two Upper Year Co-Chairs. As a committee, it welcomes members at large for ideas and input.
The Social Committee is responsible for planning and executing a number of social activities to give students at the Faculty of Information a chance to meet up, network and get to know each other throughout the school year. The events planned by the Social Committee include gatherings on and off campus and events for special occasions such as the winter break and the end of the school year. The biggest projects for the Social Committee are the Meet and Greet during the summer and the Orientation Week BBQ. Each Co-Chair is allotted one vote at MISC meetings.
If you have ideas for events you would like to see, recommendations for accessible venues in the city or questions for the committee, please e-mail the Social Committee. You can also like us on Facebook to get continued up-to-date information.
